About Peter

Whatever the means, someone somewhere needs Jesus!Peter Taylor’s life has been full of personal experiences with the presence of God and other people being touched by the afterglow of God’s goodness. Born in Escondido, California on May 13, 1967, Peter’s mom was nine months pregnant and anxious about having a child when the comforting voice of God speaks to her and says: “You’re going to have a son. His name is Peter. He will be a pastor.”

Peter had his first encounter with the Lord on an Easter Sunday morning at the age of twelve. Hearing the pure gospel,  Peter left his family to be the first one at the altar call. There he prayed to Jesus for the first time to save him. Instantly, he felt the assurance of salvation and a calling to preach.

At the age of nineteen, a friend invited Peter to move to Portland, Oregon, saying “My sister is building a church up there and they are on fire for Jesus.” Two weeks later, the road trip led him to a newfound love to worship Jesus, staying up late through the nights the boys would sing their hearts out, sometimes weeping for more of Him. It was in those times where Peter fell totally in love with the Lord.

The anointing to preach came a few years later when on a Sunday morning church service he received the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Soon after that the Lord opened the doors to preach in the jails, schools and churches. Once, while attending a prayer meeting in a church on a Wednesday evening after extended fasting, He suddenly was not standing with the group of prayer warriors but standing in front of the Head of the church: Jesus himself. A short conversation with Jesus will change anyone’s life.

Most important in Peter’s life is his family; he has been married to Shelly since 1997. They have three children Rylee, Karlee and Wesley. Residing in North San Diego, California, Peter owns a remodeling company, is currently pastoring a home church, ministering in the local jail regularly and the president of Reach The Harvest Ministries.
